Why did Food Lion create the healthy saver program?

Food Lion recognizes that the cost of health care is expensive and that it represents a growing cost for our customers with limited, or no prescription coverage. We created healthy saver to support our customers that do not have prescription coverage, or are under-insured. The healthy saver program is a perfect example of Food Lion's ongoing commitment to the health and wellness of our customers.

Is there a fee to participate in the program, who can enroll?

As a Food Lion healthy saver, there is a nominal fee that is calculated in the price you pay at the pharmacy counter.
healthy saver is not meant for individuals participating in a federally qualified program.

How do I enroll in the healthy saver program?

To enroll in the healthy saver program, speak to your Food Lion pharmacist.

Can the healthy saver program be used at any Food Lion pharmacy?

All Food Lion pharmacies participate in the program. You must present your healthy saver card each time you or a family member fill or refill a prescription.

Can the healthy saver program be used along with my prescription coverage plan?

The healthy saver program provides savings on prescriptions that are not covered by insurance, or to save on prescriptions for family members that are not covered by insurance.
Prescriptions processed using the healthy saver program will not count towards a customer's insurance deductible, and cannot be used to discount any customer's co-pay.
healthy saver is not meant for individuals participating in a federally qualified program.
The healthy saver program discounts can not be applied in addition to any other discount offers.

How does the 90-day supply work?

Customers have the option of obtaining a 90-day supply of maintenance medications. Over 450 selected generic medications qualify to be dispensed as a 90-day supply* for $10.99.

How does the 30-day supply work?

Over 450 selected generic medications qualify to be dispensed in a 30-day supply* for $4 each.

How can I find out what drugs are available for $4 or $10.99?

A Food Lion pharmacy associate can provide a printed copy of the over 450 generic drugs that are provided in either a 90 or 30-day supply.
Customers can also visit our drug pricing page to determine pricing on specific medications.

* A 30-day supply or 90-day supply is based upon the average dispensing patterns for the specific drug and strength. The program, as well as, the prices and the list of covered drugs can be modified by Food Lion at any time without notice and at Food Lion's discretion.
